well, actually, about 20 miles to the north
near Steamboat Lake.
Scott talked to his brother the other day
and found out that Clark, Colorado had 24 inches of snow in 3 days...
which made the total snowfall in this area upwards of
48+ inches...over four feet deep!
It
also made snow shoeing a very interesting proposition.
"Invigorating"
I believe was the term that was used. :)
Even though we were told you would only sink down
"a foot or so"
in the dry "champagne powder" (so famous in this area)
I can't even imagine what it would be like.
Noooo, not at all!
Not even with a hot sauna to soothe my weary bones afterwards.
Nope!
I'd much rather sit by the roaring fire and sketch...
or watch the silent snow gently fall in the groves of aspens and pines.
Yes, that would be much better...for this desert dweller, me.
(This is a sketch I did when we visited in the fall...
a season I think I much prefer.)
Ooooh, could you please pass the hot chocolate
and stoke the fire a time or two? LOL:)

snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather."

mmm, no such thing as bad weather....mmmm not sure about that. yes, you keep toasty warm and let the youngsters fight their way around outside. hugs.
I always look forward to snow but I have never had to deal with that much snow before. Love your sketch. Pass me some hot chocolate please.
fabulous!!!!
Looks stunning but only from inside by the roaring fire! We never get that amount here in East Anglia - get excited when it lasts just half an hour and everything goes pure white. Then its all slush in no time. Liked the trees.
.
Peg--love the aspens with the vista in the background. BTW..I didn't miss even one of your posts while I was "away". Just couldn't give up your blog!

That is a lot of snow...and a beautiful watercolor to go with it!
There is no such thing as too much hot chocolate.
Gosh, that is even more snow than Wis. This style is quite different for you. But it is as wonderful as always. It looks so serene.
Congrats for winning the special blog award from soulbrush!!!!
