"Sun Kissed..."

...was simply the perfect way
to describe the weather here in Arizona yesterday.
I drew this poolside in my Moly
after my deep water aerobics class at noon...
and like a moth drawn to a flame...I felt totally compelled
to linger a bit, extend my stay...
and immerse my entire spirit in the glorious sunlight.
Ahhhh!
I just didn't want this feeling to end.
I hope this post brings a bit of warmth to those of you struggling with
the brutal cold this winter.
I know that I
will refer to it often this summer...
when our temperatures reach 115 degrees +
and sigh longingly in reflection
of what this gently sun kissed, perfect day felt like.
Ahhhh...:)

"Breathe. Let go.
And remind yourself that this very moment
is the only one
you know you have for sure."
~Oprah Winfrey

Wow, Margaret, so warm there in what is supposed to be winter. I think I'm moving there if ever I leave South Africa!

How inspiring that you do water aerobics ~ I am still working my way up to just being a little more active every day. So far so good! =)

I feel warm and happy looking at it. Beautiful. Here in Dubai (UAE) we have losts of palm trees, pools and sun (although today it's raining - and I love it, we actually miss the rain).. maybe I will send you some photos - or post some - to inspire you more.

Margaret I am so enjoying your 'everyday' journal pages.

Sigh........ You are right, your picture does bring warmth. it is miserable here - not so cold but foggy and damp.

Composition, color, sense of place and emotion. You have a gift for capturing the moment...well done

This lovely "warm" scene came on just the right day. It will be our coldest day in many years today. Our temp gauge outside right by our patio doors shows 8 below zero this morning. Brrrrr

I can just imagine loafing in the shallow end of the pool. Aaahhhhhh

Oh the thought of lovely warm sunshine - its so dull here and has been foggy of late keeping out any sign of light - your sketch brought it straight to me. Oprah's verse sounds a bit gloomy as if we are all going to 'peg out' tomorrow!!!

We've been having those wonderful, sunkissed days too. Blue skies, seventies, no breeze...just stillness and the smell of salt air. Heaven!

I love the sketch. It's very inviting!

VERY nice. It was 85 here yesterday and may be hotter today! But that doesn't mean I don't like a nice 'spa-type' scene of relaxed frolicking.
I like your style.

Ah, this looks so familiar, so Arizonaish. But I think all the northern people are wishing they were here with us. Great page.

Hi Margaret! I have a sister Margaret (she is also an artist)
I love how your painting 'Sun Kissed' reminds me of warm days on a beach in January in Aruba with my hubby!

I think I'll become a snowbird! I'd love to live in Arizona for the winter! We're actually having a mild week before the freezing weather comes back... Love your new sketches!!!
