card #1 in my new whimsical floral ATC series.
I feel
I am just like her these days...
super sensitive and frail...suffering from
oppressive humidity, heat, swarms of bugs, and other
inevitable Midwest summertime penances.
They are sucking the life
out of my energy...
and are holding me captive in my own home!
At the present time, mid morning, here in corn country,
it is 88 degrees with a sultry dew point
of 81...Amazon jungle levels...
making it feel like a soggy wet 105!!!
Personally, if I am going to be hot and uncomfortable...
I prefer the arid heat and the
dusty brown
powerful haboobs of the desert southwest...
to this rainforest-like mugginess.
Unlike me...
my Muse is having a great time...being held captive inside
she is drawing up a storm of her own!
“We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure
without
being more sensitive to pain.”

I am at the other end of the spectrum, suffering from seasonal affective disorder right now, as our July looks more like October :( It has rained so much that the other day I asked my husband to pick up an ark on the way home!
I am with you about the heat. UGH... I feel captive too. My muse is quite busy though. This is good. I can't wait to see more of your series.
Wow, this Midwest heat is doing great for you. Your muse must like melting! Lol
A stunning piece!
Funny how your comment on my FB led me back to your blog which is also about weather and it's affect on us. I so miss your art and poetry. Don't be a stranger, Peg!
Could do with some of your mugginess here in Ireland, one day sun , two days wind and rain and so on, thats why Ireland is so green....it's mould!
Beautiful flower drawing, looking forward to see the rest of the series! And greetings from the heat of Beijing, wouldn't survive without air conditioner.
I'm with you on the humidity! We finally have the upstairs air conditioned because we barely survived last summer. It was beyond oppressive.
I do love what you're producing while being held captive ;)
A beautiful card despite the uncomfortable weather. I hate sticky heat too and end up trying to stay cool at home.
Love the beautiful floral border, and the subject's very unique comparing to your usuals in terms of tone and shades. Love this different approach!
Glad I could put a smile on your face with my art ^^
Hope you'll feel fine with the weather. You made a beautiful card. Nice one.
