A Summer Desert Dichotomy...of Sorts..."

It's either blazing hot,
(with high temps in excess of 114 degrees...
and overnight lows reaching record breaking highs...)
with cloudless cerulean blue skies,
and sun baked dry, firery air...
...or
it's claustrophobically "sticky humid"
(a record high 80 degree dew point three days ago...
um...75 degree dew points are Amazon jungle level...)
with heavy water laden cloud banks
bursting at the seams in torrential downpours
making desert washes run wildly.
Geesch!
It has been one heck of a week here in the desert.
Hope you enjoy
my stylized "cactus monsoon flower" above.
Hmmm...
Maybe I should send it in to the Weather Channel
to be used as a new forecasting symbol
for these here desert regions.
LOL :)
Have a non-dichotomous...smooth and agreeable
Cactus Monday All!
:)

you take rain dances seriously."

... and we thought it was hot here in dear old England in May when we reached high 80's for a stretch of ten lovely days. As for humidity, we don't know the meaning of the word.
Loved your Six Word Saturday photo and the series title for this day of the week.

I like your desert cactus flower Peg. I can't imagine such high temperatures. We get those high dew points all the time during summer. It makes what the weather people call our "feels like" temps up in the 100's. I don't know what we would do if we had actual 100's temps and the dew points. All I can say is thank God for AC. Happy Cactus Monday... Have a good week inside.

Wow! I'm loving that red one! It looks hot and intense and I'm really glad we don't get weather like that. It would truly kill me.

Your weather painting truly do depict the feeling of the temperatures you so well describe.
those black jaggid lines especially speak volumnes to me.
I cannot imagine tolerating 114 degrees. It must feel like walking into an oven! How do you breathe?
Thank heavens for air conditioning.

And thank YOU Margaret for your sweet thoughtful comment on my most recent post today. I felt so understood. ;-)

I just love these. You represented hot and cold perfectly. I feel bad for you about the humid heat. I bet when you go outside it feels like a wet washrag has been thrown in your face. LOL HCM girlie!
