"I Got Blasted..."

...on the 4th of July
by a miserable migraine which planted itself
deep into my head...choking off
my visual acuity with a vengeance.
Drawn here she appears fairly fanciful...but let me tell you
looks deceive!
She eventually abated...but...
whether it was due to a heavy dosage of meds or the
liberal use of my Pitt Pen
(and strains of smooth jazz wafting in the background...)
"the jury is still out..." :)

"Imagination is not a talent of some men,
but is the health of every man."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sorry to hear you've been laid low with a migraine - amazed that you can still create! Hope you're feeling better now.

Oh heaven, I thought I recognized those jaggedy lines - mine come just like that in bright neon lights and longer spikes too. You sure have my sympathy and how on earth you managed to do one of your famous doodles I can't image. Hope it did'nt ruin your 4th July celebrations - or was it as a result???? Loved your earlier cloud photos.

Talk about turning your pain into art! This is especially beautiful!

A woman once asked me if I got migraines because my doodles look like what she sees when she has one. I don't, thank God, but have helped my Mom through plenty enough to know that they must be horrible.

Here's hoping you never have another!

As a prior victim (a hysterectomy cured mine) I feel your horrific pain. I used to lose several days per month because of them. Poor you. I'm glad it passed, but jeez, what a buzz kill they can be!

I spent part of my day in urgent care for a spider bite. it's quite nasty. The doctor is also worried that it could be MRSA, the flesh-eating bacterial infection! talk about being frightened out of my wits!! I do remember a pinch though and it looks better after one day of AB's, so it was probably a brown recluse who hitched a ride in my bra!

Hey! So sorry your head hurt! I HATE migraines! Hoped I'd be done with them by now! I use RelPax and it's a miracle. Mine hardly ever become full-blown! How you can draw w/ one is a mystery to me. All I want to do is crawl in a hole! Hoping for a better day today! Jan Loomer;)

I rarely get headaches much less a migraine, but looking at your EEG lines and spikes...OUCH!

Art heals everything! :)

I get those too - I would describe mine like your border with spikes and shooting through the eyes is good depiction too. Imitrex helps me; when I was a child before anybody realized what was wrong with me, I used to draw when I had headaches. It soothed me. I'm so thankful for medicaiton though! Hope you are feeling a 100% today!

Oh, no headache is nice and a migraine can be especially brutal. I had one last week that bounced back on me after a day of rest (but sore neck and shoulder and head muscles). Hope you are tip top and love how you convey everything into your drawings, even a migraine pain.

Surely not due to the Pitt Pen! You can't give up the fineliner ... nonny no!

how you feeling now???

I definitely feel your pain. I have been getting migraines since I was 14 yrs old. Mine are stress induced - things like stress, anxiety, fear, worry, etc. will bring them on quick. Luckily I am aware of the first onset of mine with the visual disturbances and can generally wipe one out with a handful of ibuprofen. And I do mean a handful.

Migraines are the pits! Glad you were able to make something beautiful of it anyway...

I am not a migraine sufferer, but I think that your artwork is so perfect in expressing what it must be like.
