This day...is considered very powerful by some...
and,
I tend to totally agree.
...Today
my MIND feasted
on a banquet of color, and rhythm, and precision, and imagination.
...Today
my HEART became re-energized
with childlike wonder, and sparkle, and anticipation.
...Today
my SPIRIT was strengthened
by observing the simplest and smallest acts
contributing to the greatness of the whole,
and
...Today my little "WORLD"
became truly magical
intrinsically decorated by the beauty of
ART
and the possibilities and promise of the all that is around me.

I love your collage of images! The start of this olympics was so awesome. Cheers!
Wow. I so love this painting and your words! (and I missed the ceremony!?! aargh!)
I had planned to watch a "little bit" of the opening ceremonies, but stayed to watch til the end. Now I wish I had thought to have my sketchbook handy, as you did!
I was also so very moved by this opening ceremony--wow! Love your expression of the evening.

Love your drawing! Very appropriate for opening day of the olympics! I hope you don't mind, I'd like to add a link to your blog on my blog.
love the drawing and really love the thoughts that go with it - thanks for sharing
Great post!
The ceremony really was fantastic wasn't it.
Thanks each of you for your lovely comments...Like so many I was truly mesmerized last night...eye balls glued to the television screen for every second of the ceremony. Isn't it amazing the gobal reach this amazing feat of art had? The power of imagination! WooHoo!...:)
Purplepaint...sure...no problem...thanks for the link! :)
Wasn't that show just awesomely beautiful!! I marveled at his creativity. I was also glued to the the TV.
what an attractive view of it all, yes it was fantastic...but what bothers me about the olympics is the money being spent to make it all happen when down the road so many millions are starving!
I think they should have contacted you for their posters!
This is AWESOME!!! I love the collage effect here, Margaret. Great job!
